First meeting of the season between intra conference opponents. Leafs comeback with 2 late 3rd period goals an then win in O.T to remained a perfect 3-0 to begin the season. Matthews scored the game-winer at 3:43, Brown and Zaitsev added a goal and an assist each for the locals. Panik and rookie Rutta got a goal and an assist each for the Hawks. Andersen made 18 saves and Forsberg 39 in his Blackhawks regular season debut.
