| A good tilt with both guys having control at some point and both guys landing some nice punches but in the end I think the two guys both had equal spells of dominance and cancelled each other out so I would call a draw. |

Jan 12, 2012 21:23 ET | Early in the third period with a 5-2 lead by Florida, Chicago's Mike Embach races up the ice with the puck. He enters the neutral zone on his way to Florida territory. Scott Fletcher sees a chance to make a hit and lines him up. As Embach crosses the blue line, Fletcher unloads a huge hit. Fletcher's shoulder drives right into Embach's chest and sends him flying backwards to the ice. Embach's helmet continues its forward momentum as Embach's face hits the ice. Fletcher falls back to the ice as well, but regains his footing and drops his gloves waiting for an answer. Two Chicago players grab him as a scrum forms. Mathieu Roy grabs one of the Chicago players, but the linesmen intervene before much escalates. The trainer attends to Embach as things cool down.
Scott Fletcher and Josh Burrows received roughing penalties and Embach left the game. Embach was placed on the 7 day IR the next day.
The hit itself was very clean and was a solid hit. Fletcher destroyed Embach and this hit is definitely a top contender for hit of the year. | Dirty
