| Maloney does get a couple in, then Nilan headlocks him and tries to hiptoss him to the ice. Doesn't really get the hiptoss but it does end the fight. |

This was a case of an old lion going up against a young lion. Maloney was the old grizzled veteran of NHL wars. Nilan was a young player trying to make a name for himself by challenging a respected veteran fighter.
Nilan was usually an energetic fighter, but he was strangely listless in this bout. Maloney was holding on to him and wrestling. Then, Dan landed a decent right and a solid uppercut. Chris got his right arm free and just missed the mark with a right hand. Maloney went for the takedown, but Chris managed to stay on his feet. The refs decided to stop the bout at this juncture.
I rate this as a narrow win for Maloney. He landed a decent right hook and a pretty good uppercut. The fight was brief and Maloney did not do any major damage with his blows. Nilan woke up from his rare slumber too late. Dan got the better of him in this bout. |

| Film clip opens up with both guys wrestling by the boards. Maloney facial-connects with a sidearm swing & then with an uppercut. Nilan only trys to further wrestle with him and then trys to headlock him but he even fails on that as Maloney manages to keep above him as they fall to the ice. Overall, Nilan virtually did nothing in this fight, hence, clear win for Maloney. |
