Chris Nilan clear win Fun

This was a good fight, but I always saw this as the opening act to the main event that would occur later between Coxe and Kordic. Regardless, Stanley and Nilan have a pretty good tussle here that starts with Nilan scoring with a right while Stanley sneaks his left through. After they grapple for a bit, Nilan gets Stanley turned around and gets his right loose, and he starts wailing away on Daryl with a series of uppercuts and haymakers that knocks Stanley's helmet flying! Daryl tries to answer back with a few replies of his own, but Nilan won't let up and lands a few more bombs. Both stand back a little and exchange two or three huge punches that don't appear to land before they get in nice and tight, prompting the linesmen to jump in and break them up. Great fight, but Nilan landed a lot more and a lot better.

Chris Nilan VS Daryl Stanley.

Stanley and Nilan drop the mitts and Nilan is feeding him some right hands at the very beginning of the fight. They are locked up in close and Nilan is getting the better of the fight going under and over for a while. Finally Stanley throws a weak left hand that doesn't land. Nilan is still punching with his right hand and Stanley gets his left hand in a better position and they go toe-to-toe for a while. Nilan punches the helmet off of the head of Stanley but Stanley is answering back near the end of the fight and puts on a good show.

Narrow win for Nilan here, if Stanley was throwing the lefts during the whole fight then it would have been a draw but he couldn't get his arm going at the beginning, which gives Nilan the edge as he landed much more.

Truncated film-clip but nevertheless it looked like nilan didn't weasel his way through this fight like he normally does, but instead he was face up against his opponent seemed to get the upper hand in this fight against stanley.

Not a bad fight. Nilan was the aggressor and definitely connected with more punches. Clear win Nilan.

John Kordic narrow win Fun

Great fight between 2 very tough heavyweights here. They both land great shots but 1 of Kordic's staggers Coxe in the end and Kordic gets him down for the win. This fight is a prime example of the difference of today's fights and the old time fights. Today there is a lot of shadow boxing, clutching, grabbing, and just 2 people standing aroung hanging on to each other not throwing punches. This was the kind of fight you never see anymore which is sad because it's the best kind where 2 people just stand in there and throw hard punches and don't stop till one goes down.

John Kordic and Craig Coxe mix it up here. Both square off and as they come together Kordic gets a hold on Coxe's right shoulder. Kordic then throws about 4 rapid-fire lefts before Coxe even responds. Coxe, always game, returns with lefts of his own because Kordic's hold prevents him from using his right. In the toe to toe exchange that follows, Kordic lands a few good lefts. One of these shots really catches Coxe good. After the flurry is over both fighters hold on and the linesmen jump in. Coxe appears to have a cut over his right eye.

You had to expect a great fight coming from these two. Even though it wasn't quite a war, this is a good fight with both fighters throwing rapid punches. Kordic gets the clear win by landing the better shots. Nice job by Kordic tying up Coxe's right shoulder. By doing this Coxe had to fight left handed. This cross-up grip also allowed Kordic to get the jump on Coxe and land several punches before he could respond.

John Kordic and Craig Coxe, two legendary scrappers who both had a wild-swinging, wide open style of fighting, are shoulder to shoulder for a faceoff. The puck drops and they square off immediately.

Coxe removes his helmet and tosses it aside, but Kordic decides to be a little less honorable and keeps his lid on. They shadowbox before joining up in battle. Kordic throws rapid lefts and catches Coxe in the face with some good shots, including a sharp blow that opens up a cut near Craig's nose.

After taking a few punches, Coxe answers with rapid-fire lefts of his own. The two warriors go toe-to-toe for a moment. Coxe drills Kordic with a good shot to the face at this juncture. They continue to swing away wildly. Coxe takes one to the side of the head and gets bent over. The linesmen decide to end it.

Coxe goes to the penalty box, blood dripping down his face from the cut near his nose. He towels off the wound. Kordic leaves the ice right away and goes to the dressing room. As he is escorted off the ice, you can see Kordic put a hand to his face and check it for blood. The camera angle doesn't show John's face, but his nose was apparently broken.

It was a brief yet action-packed scrap. Kordic and Coxe were both damaged and landed a similar number of punches, so call it a draw.

Good stand-up fight between two of the best. It was refreshing to see a fight w/o all the clutching and grabbing that usually goes on. Kordic and Coxe trade left hands at a furious pace, and it seems as though Kordic's punches are landing with a little more accuracy, and it appears to be his left that ends it as they go to the ice. Coxe emerges with a cut near the right eye. Good round that I give to Kordic 10-9 on the boxing scorecard.

Real pearl! Two classic fighters. Nice show up first and then toe to toe with lefts. Some blood too, of course. Watch and learn!

Coxe hangs in there but Kordic hits him with some really good, rapid fire shots which opens Coxe up. As usual, Craig takes it in stride and heads to the penalty box.

They squared off against each other taking a classic boxing stance. Then both threw a flurry of lefts with 'Rambo' Kordic getting the edge in this exchange. Coxe recieved a small cut under his right eye.

Good fight by both but Kordics left landed better and as what usually happens with a lefty and a righty you leave yourself open, Kordic got Coxe at the end which staggered him, and brought the linesmen in.

Great short fight. Punches were flying, Kordic with a slight win, Coxe was cut, but Kordic got tagged as well and he headed straight to the lockerroom with the trainer after the fight.

I saw the video posted by SarcasticPillow and Coxe landed so much punches as Kordic even if this one threw more. All the more, Kordic got the take down. Short but a sweet fight.

Punches were flailing fast. A very rough estimate is 8 connected punches by kordic while coxe had 3 connected punches.

Kordic was injured in this fight. It was reported by some outlets at the time he had caught a hard shot to the nose. Notice he goes straight to the drsssing room after the fight.Reply
