Both men had tied up the right hand of the other and neither got any shots off in the brief clip. After the bout, Nilan was gesturing and yapping from the penalty box. Nilan and Fraser had a couple of dustups in this game. There was brief footage of an on-ice fight. The two men were vigorously grabbing each other's arms in that altercation. No punches appeared to connect. The clip jumps ahead and shows Chris pointing, yapping, and gesturing from the penalty box. Fraser was trying to skate towards Nilan, but he was prevented by teammates Lars Lindgren and Stan Smyl.
The two had their third bout of the evening under the stands. The cameras revealed that Chris was on top of Curt. It appeared that Nilan landed a right hand to the body. Then, he just leaned heavily on the shoulders of Fraser. There were a couple of onlookers standing next to the men.
There is not enough visual evidence to declare a winner. Nilan appeared to be doing better in the wresling match, but he only connected with one marginal body punch. This was a mildly entertaining spectacle as you don't see hockey players in a tussle off the ice very often, although this did happen at times in the 1980's. There was nothing in terms of meaningful punching and from that standpoint the event wasn't very noteworthy. |

Sep 3, 2012 06:20 ET | Might as well tell about what's shown on the video displayed by DYG. The fight between them on the ice is not shown in the video displayed by DYG. Instead, it shows both players at the end of the hallway with both players on their knees. This is while Fraser has his head buried in Nilan's torso while Nilan keeps him locked up in that position. Oddly enough, no police nor bystanders were interfering or trying to break them up. The film clip showed about 7 seconds of this. | Reply |
