Brandon Prust narrow win Fun

These two go at it right off the draw and mean some serious business in this scuffle.

Prust misses some rights early on and Rypien gets in some lefts as they battle for position. Rypien gets in a couple rights knocking off Prust's helmet and Prust fires some back and they go toe to toe for a bit. They get in a bit of a spin-cycle and Rypien switches to the right and lands two solid rights on Prust. Rypien starts firing rights to the body and Prust pulls him down and Rypien gets his helmet in front of his eyes and is in a bad spot. Prust nails the top of his helmet then starts going to work with the right throwing four jackhammer rights landing two good ones. Prust then lands a big right-handed uppercut which stuns Rypien a bit and cuts him open. Rypien starts tossing some back missing and Prust does the same as they grapple. Rypien gets in a good left and misses another while Prust comes back with a right and misses one over the top. Prust rips off Rypiens helmet and gets in an uppercut as the refs get closer. Rypien fires some lefts that miss and Prust gets in another solid uppercut. The refs break it up and both combatants look pretty tired from the scrap.

Rypien sports a nice cut near his left eye and Prust is a little bit marked up as well

Brandon Prust and Rick Rypien drop their gloves soon after a faceoff. Right away they reach out and get a grip of the other's jersey. Prust misses three rights as Rypien misses a left and moves in close quarters. Rypien throws jersey jabs with the right while also throwing two lefts and connecting with one. Prust lands a right in the mean time and then Prust misses a right while Rypien misses a left. They lock up for a moment, then Rypien throws two rights and lands one that knocks off Prust's helmet. Then Rypien misses two lefts while Prust throws three rights and connects on two. Prust gets bent over and as he straightens himself, Rypien throws three rights and lands two. Rypien throws four rights then, landing one to the body before hitting the deck. Prust lands a right as Rypien is down and Rypien gets up. Prust throws four rights, connecting on three as Rypien attempts to block with his left. Prust pauses and goes for Rypien's helmet but can't get it off. Then Prust lands a right and then misses a right as Rypien throws two lefts, landing one. Rypien misses a right and Prust throws two rights and lands one as Rypien misses a left. Rypien just grapples as Prust connects with two rights. Rypien shakes off his left elbow pad and misses a left as Prust grapples too. Rypein throws two lefts and lands one, then Prust lands a right. Then Prust misses a right as Rypien lands a left. Rypien takes off his own helmet and then misses a left while Prust connects on a right. Rypien misses a left and Prust misses a right before Rypien lands a left while Prust misses a right. Rypien lands a left to the body and the linesmen come in. A very good fight between these two tough guys. Rypien had the slight advantage early but then Prust came back and took the upper hand. The fight slowed down a fair amount late and it was pretty even most of the way. Prust did land better and also opened Rypien up to get the narrow win.

GREAT FIGHT!

They go off the draw and hold nothing back... toe-to-toe action, both with rights at the first then Rypien switches to the left. Too many punches to describe everything. Rypien gets Prust in a bad spot midway through and lands some short punches of a defenseless Prust. Prust looks like he's done but comes back strong and gets Rypien in a bad spot. Rypien sticks up to the left hand to protect his face but Prust gets some through including an uppercut. They trade some more after that and in come the stripes.

Great, long fight. Draw, maybe slight edge to Rypien for that nice flurry of unanswered punches.

A excellent fight here. They started off exchanging punches, Rypien got the advantage with his right landing a bunch of rights in a row to the cheek and side of the head of Prust. Prust came back pulling Rypien forward yanking him to the ice. Prust then opened fire landing a few as Rypien got up and he continued peppering him with a couple once Rypien was on his feet trying to regain himself. Rypien regained himself and the rest of the fight was fought even and still pretty exciting but not as eventful as the early parts of the fight.

Very, very solid draw.

The first part of the bout is even with both guys landing a few the Rypien takes the lead with some nice rights but Prust comes back strong landing several big rights and controls the bout till the end when they both land a couple punches until the linesmen move in. Close and great fight with Prust getting the edge for taking the mid to latter stages of the bout.

Amazing fight here.

Prust and Rypien decide to have a go. Rypien gets in some early good ones while he has Prust tied up. Prust gets free and lands a few as Rypien falls. He gets up and they exchange a few good punches.

Rypien was cut up badly after this so Prust gets the nod here.

I actually would rather watch May Barch. That was an absolute slugfest. Again this was a good fight but the 9's and 10's are absurd. I think its the fact that fights these days usually suck so when there is a great fight people overreact

Rick Rypien pushes Brandon Prust after the whistle trying to start a second fight with him. Prust is hesitant but Rypien drops his gloves and grabs onto Prust. Prust drops a glove and then Rypien connects with a left. Prust drops his other glove and misses two rights as Rypien throws three lefts and lands two. They pause and Prust misses a right while Rypien throws two lefts and connects with one. Prust gets in tight and wrestles and Rypien misses a right before landing two lefts. Rypien pushes Prust against the boards and then throws three lefts, landing two as Prust misses a right. Then they stand back and Prust gets off the boards and throws three rights, connecting on two and knocking off Rypien's helmet as Rypien misses a left. They pause and Rypien misses a left and misses a left as Prust throws two rights and lands one. Rypien pushes Prust against the boards and they grapple. They move off the boards and Rypien throws two rights and lands one. Prust throws three rights and lands one, then Rypien connects on a left. Prust lands a left and then Rypien misses a left. Rypien goes for Prust's helmet and gets it off while they get back in tight. Rypien misses a left and then Prust lands a right before missing a right as Rypien misses a left. Rypien shakes off his left elbow pad and Rypien misses left before the fight is ended by the linesmen. Yet again, Prust and Rypien have a good fight. Rypien had the edge in this one, connecting on more and better.

This was round number two, and it was another great tilt. Rypien is clearly the man looking for the fight, as he was doing that throughout the entire game. He challenges Prust, and after a left to Prust's face, the two would go again. It looked to me that Rypien was better in this one, as he controlled the fight a little more, and landed better. After I watched it live, it looked like a draw or narrow win for Rypien, and after a second look, I call a narrow win for Rick Rypien.

Yup, I'd say 1-0-1 as well but unfortunately it looks like he won't be credited with that because it seems when Rypien fights (or sometimes any Flyers) a bunch of <100 fight review users come on and score them with the W. Too bad.

I only caught what was going on after the fact, but the commentators were talking about how a fan shined a laser pointer onto Kipper and could have caused a goal. They showed the replay and I've never seen something like that before. It wasn't even the standard cheap red laser pointer, this was a military one, designed to point out targets for helicopters and planes. This fool must have definately been kicked out as it was so obvious where he was. Fun

Never seen this before! A Vancouver fan with a green laser pointer is flashing it in Kipper's eyes all night, security comes in the third and I would guess took it away from the fan. Kind of weird event here but didn't effect the Flames from getting the win! Fun

How did you guys know about this? Was it mentioned? or could you see the laser?

And i'd assume he would get kicked out.

The CBC announcers tracked the problem. Showed the green laser being on Kipper's cage. Showed the laser also from the goal cam.Reply
