Larry Playfair decisive win Fun

Playfair is in charge from the get go in this fight. He throws rights at Nilan who only sporadically tries to answer with rights of his own. Playfair then nails Nilan with a huge uppercut and from then on it's just a matter of survival for Nilan. Playfair just continues to hammer away at Nilan. He hits Nilan with solid and hard rights to the back of Nilan's helmet. Nilan is holding on for dear life and as the linesmen intervene Playfair manages to land a couple of more really solid rights. Nilan was clearly hurt in this fight and the bigger Playfair showed why he was such a fearsome fighter.

Playfair and Nilan were familiar foes and Chris got the better of their previous fight. Larry was looking for payback and he had a much better performance this time around. Nilan landed a decent uppercut and a partial connect. Playfair landed a decent blow, missed a punch, and had a couple of solid connects.

Nilan missed with a right hand. Playfair missed a couple of punches and landed a decent blow. Chris missed a punch and landed a solid right. Larry landed a couple of decent blows. Nilan missed a right hand. Playfair landed a big right that rocked Chris.

The right hand by Playfair did damage and hurt Nilan. Larry continued with a barrage of punches. He landed a solid blow and landed a couple of decent punches. He landed a solid shot and a decent blow. He missed a shot. Nilan was trying to avoid the incoming punches and he was not firing back with punches of his own.

Larry missed a punch and landed a good right. He landed a solid blow and missed a punch. He tugged Chris to the ice and nailed him with a final uppercut with good power. Chris got up and was wiping his face. He got battered in the late stages of the bout.

I rate this as a decisive win for Playfair. Bad Larry landed several unanswered punches down the stretch. He landed a few big shots, some solid connects, and some decent blows. Nilan was competitive in the early going, but he did not fire back with punches down the stretch. Chris was taking a beating at the end of the bout.

Playfair threw a lot of rights, Nilan tried a couple as well. Then Playfair nailed Nilan with a huge uppercut that put him on the defensive the rest of the way. He eventually landed one to the side of the head and Nilan went down, then Playfair hit another heavy uppercut when he was kneeling, before the linesmen stepped in.

These two drop the gloves in front of the net. Right from the start, it's all Playfair. He throws heavy right hands at Nilan who just tries to contain Larry at first. Playfair continues to fire away as Nilan is unable to get going. He counters with sporadic rights of his own as Playfair is clearly in control. I believe Nilan may have connected with one right as Playfair was coming in with one, but that's it. Playfair continues with the heavy right hands and lands a good uppercut that snaps Nilan's head back. Larry continues to throw and catches Nilan with a few big rights to the back of the helmet that force him down to the ice. Nilan is on his knees and covers up as Playfair lands a few big uppercuts while he's down.

Very few could take it to Nilan like this, but Playfair was one of them. Decisive win for Playfair.

Nilan was basically Playfair's personal punching bag throughout their battles. Nilan was in way over his head.Reply

I luved Playfair because he lived up to his name "playfair", lol. To me, he was the ultimate "cop", always straightening out the villains of the league. I even posted a hypothetical Playfair vs. Dave Brown fight at the DYG forum where everybody can vote on who would be the winner in a hypothetical match.

Wiemer somewhat guides Claude Lemieux towards Buffalo goalie Tom Barrasso. As Lemieux heads towards him, he gets his elbow up and hits Barrasso in the mask. Barrasso shows his appreciation by grabbing Lemieux in a headlock and tackling him to the ice. Barrasso gets mount position and starts dropping left hands on him as everyone else on the ice, save for Richard Sevigny, piles in. It's mostly just some pulling on sweaters and wrestling until Ric Seiling attempts to swing around Mats Naslund to get into the pile, as Lemieux and Barrasso are getitng back up at this time. Gloves start dropping at this point but there's no punches being thrown. The refs are having a hell of a time prying apart Lemieux and Barrasso (Virta and Ludwig are also sandwiched in there) and one of them is even flipped to the ice in the process. Now the crowd goes wild because Sevigny's on his way down the ice. He grabs Hamel and they have a wrestling match as Lemieux is trying to get back in but is held away. Fun
