 EC 2803 fight reviews 1 fight log Sep 1, 2009 19:12 ET | John Tucker clear win | Fun 6 |
During the middle of a scrum two unlikely fighters John Tucker and Glen Wesley begin to fight. Wesley lands two quick rights. However the rest of the fight is all Tucker. He gets the left hand going and lands 5 lefts. This causes Wesley to duck his head down. Tucker throws 2 body shots as they go to their knees. The officials separate them.
Tucker landed most of the blows in the fight to pick up the clear win. Wesley had a nasty cut over his right eye. |

 EC 2803 fight reviews 1 fight log Sep 2, 2009 17:40 ET | Draw | Fun 2 |
A scrum starts to the side of the Sabres net. Dean Kennedy is mixing it up with Bob Sweeney. Brian Curran comes in from behind and he grabs Sweeney as well. Sweeney wants no part of a double team and he goes to the ice and covers up. Kennedy has the gloves dropped but he lets up when he sees Sweeney cover up. Sweeney gets up and he is glaring at Curran who gives him a facwash. This time Sweeney does want to fight and Curran quickly obliges him.
They get in tight and wrestle up against the back of the net. Both men are in very close quarters and as a result neither man can throw a punch. Sweeney tries to throw a punch but they are in so tight he is unable to. Curran wrestles him up against the net and Sweeney gets one leg in the air. The officials move in since nothing is happening.
Draw as no punches were thrown in this dull fight. |

 EC 2803 fight reviews 1 fight log Jan 23, 2009 17:35 ET | Chris Nilan narrow win | Fun 6 |
Rob Ray the young enforcer for the Buffalo Sabres takes on Chris Nilan the grizzled veteran who knows how to throw em. The 2 fight right in front of the Boston bench.
Nilan lands 2 hard rights to start the fight off while keeping Ray's right arm locked up. Ray pulls himself in tight with Nilan and attempts to get his helmet off. Ray is unable to and takes another punch for his troubles. The 2 then have a short exchange of punches with Ray unable to land any punches due to his right being locked up by Nilan. Nilan however does land 2 rights plus an uppercut. Nilan then fails to connect with some overhand rights before Ray lands an uppercut. Nilan counters with his own uppercut. Ray manages to get off Nilan's helmet and he lands an uppercut before they wrestle up against the Boston bench drawing the linesmen in.
Nilan gets the win for outlanding Ray. Nilan showed his ability to fight as he not only immobilized Ray's right arm but landed his own punches. Ray gamely stayed in it with the veteran but was still on the losing end of the fight. |
 BattleshipRules 2422 fight reviews Jun 26, 2012 11:46 ET | Chris Nilan narrow win | Fun 6 |
Rob Ray was a young enforcer going up against the experienced veteran Chris Nilan. Chris got the better grip by clamping down on Rob's right arm early in the bout. Nilan missed with his first right hand. He followed up with a solid connect. Ray missed with his first right hand.
Nilan came back with two more decent right hands. Ray continued to have difficulty getting his right hand loose. Rob missed the mark with four consecutive right hands. Chris missed with an uppercut. Then, he landed a solid right cross. Nilan missed with a couple right hands.
Ray was behind on the scorecard, but he finally got going. He landed a good uppercut on Nilan. Chris countered with a decent right hand. Ray countered with a decent right of his own. Nialn landed a decent uppercut. Rob landed a decent right cross. Ray landed a partial connect. He followed up with a pretty good uppercut. The refs stepped in to stop the bout at this point.
I rate this as a narrow win for Nilan. Chris landed more punches during the fight and the impact of his blows was about equal to Ray. Nilan had a significant edge during the first half of the bout. Ray got a little better of the exchanges in the last third of the fight. His late rally was not quite enough to erase the early lead Nilan built up. Chris was able to hang on for the victory. |

 EC 2803 fight reviews 1 fight log Sep 3, 2009 15:16 ET | Mike Hartman narrow win | Fun 3 |
Mike Hartman fights with the much larger Jim Wiemer. Hartman lands 2 rights to the back of Wiemer's head and he follows that up with a punch to the side of Wiemer's head. Wiemer's dislodged helmet falls off and Hartman lands another right to the side of the head. The two begin grappling. Despite the height advantage Wiemer does not attempt any punches as he only throws one measley body shot. Hartman attempts a right but slips to his knees. Even though he is right back up again, the linesmen decide to break it up.
Hartman landed the only punches to pick up the win. |
