Lyndon Byers clear win Fun
8
Young enforcer Rob Ray fights with veteran Lyndon Byers. The 2 drop the gloves and quickly get in tight having a battle in close quarters.

Byers knocks Ray's helmet loose with some rights as Ray pins him up against the glass. They move away from the glass and Byers begins to take over. He starts landing rights on Ray who removes his loosened helmet. Ray pulls in tight but still continues to take short rights from Byers. They eventually work their way back up against the glass again. Byers continues to land punches while Ray removes Byers' helmet. Byers then lands 3 rights as they grapple. Ray responds with 2 rights of his own. Byers lands a few more rights on Ray before they start to wrestle bringing the linesmen in.

Byers took it to Ray here outlanding him by a wide margin to score a clear win.

Lyndon Byers clear win Fun

After a draw young Rob Ray takes on veteran heavyweight, Lyndon Byers. They get in close and wrestle to the boards where Byers lands a right and then tries to take off Ray's helmet. Byers keeps a good grip of Ray's right arm as Ray misses five rights while Byers can't get the helmet off. Byers then lands another right and Ray misses a right afterwards and his helmet becomes dislodged before Byers again lands a right. They move off the boards while continuing to wrestle in close and Ray misses a right. Byers connects on a right, then Ray misses two rights before pausing to take his helmet off after Byers lands yet another right. Then Byers lands three rights before Ray misses a right and Byers yet again lands a right. Ray finally lands a right but Byers throws two rights after and lands one. Ray then wrestles Byers back to the boards and Byers lands a right before Ray connects on a left as Byers buries his head into Ray's chest and pins him against the boards. Ray lands a weak left as they wrestle but Byers then gets his head up, losing his helmet in the process, but throws five rights and lands one while they drift from the boards and Ray stands back. Ray shakes his elbow pad off and misses two rights before Byers misses a right. Byers then connects on a right as Ray misses a right and Ray follows with two missing rights. Then Byers misses two rights and directs Ray into the boards. Ray misses two rights then and Byers throws three rights after, landing two before missing a right while Ray misses a left. Ray lands a left, then Byers misses a right as they get back in close and the linesmen come in and break it up. Really good, long, fight. Byers' more experience was clear as he kept Ray's right under control throughout the fight and while Ray was didn't have an arm and couldn't land much, Byers landed plenty of rights and more than a couple good ones too. Clear win Byers.

The first half of the fight is fought at close quarters. Ray is locked out and Byers lands short punches to the helmet. When they get separation, Byers lands some solid shots on Ray.

Great fight for Byers. Ray seems like he is a lot stronger on his skates than Byers, but does more pushing and bulldogging of Byers than anything else. Once Byers gets him off the boards, he really lays into him. Ray eventually muscles Byers back to the boards, but takes a pretty good beating in the process. Ray is clearly exhausted at the end.

it was nice to see ray get his ass kicked and show how he fought before he turned to a classless act of losing the jersey and show boating

byers really takes it to ray, he lands some good punches and gets in some hard uppercuts, i think ray had a black eye from this fight, ray lands a couple lefts and a couple rights, but nothing significant as the fight is all byers, ray looks exhausted at the end like hes going to passout

Entertaining even though one sided fight, Byers tied up Ray's right hand well and Ray didnt land many at all while Byers was smacking Ray with a bunch of rights. Easy win for Byers.

Byers mops up the floor with Ray since Byers scores with 17 facial/head punches. Ray managed to get in 2 marginal facial-punches. Very clear win if not a decisive win for Byers.

Byers was going to the lockerroom after the fight with Ray when Hartman dropped his gloves and grabbed Byers. Unfortunately linesmen quickly separated them. Fun

Chris Nilan clear win
Fight called Unfair by Billiam on Dec 3, 2005

This fight is a prime example of how a fight can quickly become one-sided if the linesmen only succeed in holding one player. The officials are between Miller and Nilan. Miller is effectively held by the linesmen. Nilan however has his right arm free. He does not fail to take advantage of that. Nilan hits Miller with 2 hard rights. Miller quickly drops down to the ice. Nilan tries to throw another right as they all go to the ice. The officials now get a hold of Nilan and manage to separate the two players.

Nilan landed the only punches to win the unfair fight.

Finally saw a better video that showed how this fight started. Camera gets there, Nilan is on his knees and still has his gloves on, Miller kind of ragdolls him a bit. Definitely looked like Miller jumped Nilan. Linesmen get in, Nilan gets up, drops the gloves and lands two bombs over the linesmen before they all tumble to the ice. Obviously an unfair fight. I was always wondering if the penalties were correct, but they were, Miller got the only major and was also thrown out, but amazingly Nilan only got a roughing minor even though he dropped the gloves as well and nailed Miller with two good ones. It was quite embarrassing result for Miller.

This event touches off the mini brawl. Rob Ray throws a routine check at Jim Wiemer in the corner. Bob Sweeney goes after Ray. Sweeney knocks Ray's helmet off and then drops his gloves. But by the time Sweeney grabs Ray, all of the other players have gathered and there is no room to fight or do anything else for that matter. Fun

Mike Foligno and Jim Wiemer bump in the corner as they fight for the puck. Rob Ray rushes in to throw a check at Wiemer. Bob Sweeney goes after Ray and throws his gloves off. However all of the other players and the linesmen pile in the corner, and the two aren't able to fight. As every player pairs off, Chris Nilan throws a punch at Pierre Turgeon and knocks him to the ice. Mike Ramsey lets go of Randy Burridge and tries to get at Nilan. However Burridge grabs Ramsey from behind and pins him on the ice. Turgeon gets up and goes over to have words with Nilan. Ramsey tries to get back up to go after Nilan, but is wrestled back down by Burridge.

Eventually things start to settle down. However Turgeon follows Nilan around and continues to yap at him. Then Mike Foligno breaks free and rushes at Nilan. The linesmen prevent the two from getting at each other although Foligno badly wants to fight. They are sent off and the fun is over.

When the mini brawl begins every player pairs off. Buffalo star Pierre Turgeon has the misfortune of pairing off with Boston tough guy Chris Nilan. As Turgeon goes near him, Nilan throws a quick sucker punch with the right hand. He catches Turgeon with it and Turgeon goes down to the ice. The Sabres are upset by this and Mike Ramsey and Mike Foligno try to get after Nilan. Dirty
