The last time these teams played Boulton scored a KO win against Jason Wiemer. Worrell wanted to settle the score in that game and the 2 did end up fighting. However Boulton bailed out of the fight and Worrell wasn't able to exact the payback he wanted to. This is the first meeting between these 2 teams this year and Worrell and Boulton don't waste much time dropping the gloves early into the game.
Boulton very unwisely chose to fight Worrell in open ice. Worrell has an enormous size advantage on Boulton and without the boards to help him out Worrell is in a position to tee off on Boulton and that is what he does here.
Boulton misses with 2 rights before Worrell connects on 2 rights followed by an uppercut. Worrell continues to throw rights briefly getting Boulton off balance. The 2 then grapple momentarily. Worrell then scores a huge right that clearly hurts Boulton. Worrell then grabs the off balance Boulton and tosses him to the ice.
Worrell's last shot definitely hurt Boulton who went out of the lineup with a broken cheekbone. Since Worrell hurt Boulton to the point where he was unable to continue fighting its a decisive win for Worrell who achieved some revenge here. |

The season before, Boulton dimmed Jason Wiemer's lights with a brutal KO. Worrell wanted after him for it, and Boulton talked a big game claiming he'd make Peter take a nap as well from the box. The gloves dropped, but the fight was lame, and some accused Boulton of bailing.
Fast forward to next season, and this time, they go proper, and Boulton wasn't putting anyone to sleep this time. Worrell's reach is just too much, as Boulton can't do much in the way of punching, but does well enough not to get nailed... until Worrell catches him flush with a massive right that buckles his knees. He gets back up, but he's finished and has a cut opened up over his eye.
I call it a decisive win because that punch by Worrell was TKO worthy, and even though it wasn't, it still put Boulton in a position where he wanted out immediately. Afterwards, Rob Ray scolds Boulton for fighting Worrell in the middle of the ice rather than in close against the boards. |
