Chris Nilan and Paul Coffey get into it behind the net. The gloves come off and they grab onto each other but other players and referees jump in tight away. They stay in close and Coffey misses three rights. Nilan misses a right then Coffey misses three more rights. The Coffeey is grabbed by Ron Greschner and the referees manage to break them apart but Nilan goes at it with Randy Hillier who was holding Nilan for most of the fight. An unfair fight with all the interference by the referees. Nothing landed by either man so I call it a tie.

Definitely unfair as the linesmen and other players get in immediately, probably a good thing for Coffey.

Right after Chris Nilan's fight with Paul Coffey is broken up, Nilan turns his attention to Randy Hillier, who was holding Nilan for the grand majority of his fight with Coffey. A referee stays by Nilan and Hillier and has a hold of them. Nilan misses a right as Hillier is down. Hillier gets back up and wrestles with Nilan but goes down again. Then the referee lets go after Hillier gets back up and then Hillier misses a right. Nilan then misses a right and wrestles Hillier down. The referees come in and put a stop to the tussle. Not much happened here. Draw.

Hardy got the better of it early, as he landed some rights on Bourque. Then they grappled for a while and then they both threw rights. Bourque nailed Hardy with a great right and Hardy went down.
